We made a 30 second TV commercial to be broadcast across Sky AdSmart for Conservandsave, featuring the wonderful Scottish TV presenter Carol Smillie.
The client wanted the advert to highlight how their unique foil insulation system can transform your conservatory space. Additionally, they were looking for a hook that can be carried through to their next adverts… So we said how about a magician bear?!
THE CONCEPT
The concept of the advert was that Conservandsave do not need any gimmicks in their marketing because their unique conservatory roof insulation system is so good, but with a funny and memorable twist. ‘If you’ve got a conservatory that’s not being used… don’t grin and bear it!’
BEHIND THE SCENES
We partnered with Millennium FX to source a photo-realistic bear costume and arranged for a costume designer to make a magician’s outfit to fit the bear – probably one of the stranger requests they have received!
The client wanted the advert to look like it was set in the summertime, but as we were filming in the middle of winter, we had to get creative with our lighting setup. Check out the behind the scenes of our process here.
