BG Electrical, part of the Luceco Group, asked us to create a 30-second TV ad to promote their new superfast USB sockets. The key message was simple: speed. We needed to show how much faster these sockets charge devices, and do it in a fun, relatable way that would connect with families.
We developed a concept around a mum comparing the speed of everyday moments to her phone charging. Her daughter texts at lightning speed, her husband goes for a quick run and seems to return instantly, and her son’s VR gaming is fast (but not fast enough). At the end, she looks her phone, now fully charged. Everything else is fast, but the charging is superfast.
To help visualise the idea and make sure the story flowed naturally within 30 seconds, we storyboarded and produced a test shoot. Our Producer then managed casting, sourced the location and organised for a custom wall to be built on set so the sockets could be shot at the perfect angle.
