We were commissioned by the FA to create an exciting promo Wembley drone video marking Thomas Tuchel’s first match as England manager. Using an FPV (first-person view) drone, the film gives football fans a rare glimpse of the route the England players take behind closed doors at Wembley Stadium when arriving for a match.
For this Wembley drone video, the FPV drone captured aerial footage of the iconic stadium, taking viewers on a journey through the press conference room, the changing rooms, through the players tunnel, and out over the hallowed pitch. The drone then sweeps around the stadium seating before soaring over the famous Wembley arch for the ultimate finale shot.
We layered in football commentary sound bites and quotes from Thomas Tuchel in the sound design, to celebrate the new era with Tuchel as manager and the beginning of England’s World Cup qualifying campaign.
This one was a real team effort. Scott, our Director, led the creative side and kept things moving. Georgia, our Producer, worked closely with the Wembley events team to keep everything running smoothly. Harry, our Drone Pilot, filmed all of the incredible shots we needed. And Michael, our Senior Editor, pulled it all together in the edit.
The film was officially released ahead of the World Cup qualifier between England and Albania and was featured on England football team’s official social media pages and played on Wembley’s big screens in front of the sold-out stadium just before kickoff!
